Barbara Eisenhardt: Reaching for the Soul is an exhibition of landscape paintings that express the tranquility of nature and impart a sense of emotionalism over reality. The Columbus-based artist uses low-key color and the diffused or diminished light of sunrise, sunset, moonlight or mist to create a mood or feeling, such as a sense of repose, mystery or reverie.

Eisenhardt began her art career as a fashion illustrator in Buffalo, N.Y. After moving to the New York City area, she painted, illustrated and studied through the Parsons School of Design and contributed to Norman V. Peale and Highlights for Children publications. She has worked in the Columbus, Ohio area since 1981 and is an elected artist member of the Society of Illustrators. She is a juried member of the National Association of Women Artists and Oil Painters of America, and an artist member of Ohio Plein Air Society and the American Impressionist Society.

The exhibition opens with a reception on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dublin Arts Council, 7125 Riverside Dr., Dublin, Ohio and remains on view through April 14, 2017. Gallery hours are Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The exhibition and public reception are free of charge.
